There are hundreds of different types of jobs available on a cruise ship (numbers may vary depending on what size the ship is). Whether you are only looking to work 5-10 hrs a week, 1-3 weeks, 2-3 months, or 4-6 months, there is something for every body, regardless of previous experience. On the job training is common. The average, entry level position starting pay is $1500-$2,000/MO, but that number varies from cruise line to cruise line. Many of the most common positions pay well over $2,000/MO, such as: deckhands, greeters, housekeeping, cashiers, bartenders, electricians, plumbers, kitchen helpers. Entertainers make much more.

If you want to become an entertainer and you have no experience, no problem. There are listings of Entertainment Industry training programs/schools to which you can go to, and within a few weeks, you will have the experience you need, and that goes for all other positions available.
